Sir Ken Robinson: Bring on the Learning Revolution

I agree with so much of what Sir Ken Robinson says in the following video. Learning is organic. Schools are built on a factory model or fast food model. We need to provide personalized learning. Children are all different and have different talents, gifts and abilities. They learn at different rates. They develop at different rates – even children within the same family. We need to dig deep and find the treasures hidden in our children. Then we need to provide resources to encourage the development of their talents. We can personalize education very easily in our homes.

  1. I enjoyed that, Penney! I am working on school planning today and it has given me some things to think about….I know that part about treading on dreams. I think about that with our husbands as well…yeah…I’ll think on that a bit longer. Anyway….good stuff! Thanks for sharing! ♥

    1. I love to hear eloquent people (especially with a British accent) say things that I agree with so wholeheartedly.

Amen to this applying to our husbands. We need to encourage their creativity, too. Our husbands have to remain priority number one no matter how many kids we have. And no matter what their attitude is.

    2. Isn’t this a great video and message? I saw it on TED a while ago, and wanted everyone I know to see it. I’m so glad you are sharing it on your blog! What did I enjoy the most? I think that Sir Ken Robinson is definitely onto something. I too believe that each, and every child has been given special, God-given abilities. Every child has a unique way of learning, and are wired differently (so to speak). This is why I really believe that home-schooling is a wonderful way to bring out, and develop a child’s talents, gifts and abilities. Great post Penney! Refreshing… 🙂
